North West Construction has recently undertaken urgent repairs to several structurally deficient bridges in Wirral. Works comprised of strengthening the bridge walls by means of steel bars penetrating into the fabric of the existing bridge. Existing walls were then raked and re-pointed to give additional strength and weatherproofing.
To complete the works safely, road diversions were put in place and the works were largely completed at weekends to prevent disruption to motorists.
When completed, motorists were able to use the bridge without the worry or weight restrictions or closures.
During the works the company did everything possible to keep disruption to local people to a minimum and spent considerable time liaising with the Council about this essential improvement work.
